1 Who We Are
These Terms of Service govern your use of the JTL — Jack Teaching Languages website (jackteachinglanguages.com) and all related services, including online lessons, self-paced courses, and the student portal.
Service provider: Jack Teaching Languages (JTL), an independent online language-teaching service based in Italy. Contact: jack.teaching.languages@gmail.com
2 Lessons & Bookings
- All lessons are delivered online via Zoom or Google Meet.
- A trial lesson (30 minutes) is available for €15. This fee is non-refundable if the student does not attend.
- Lesson bundles are valid for 6 months from the date of purchase.
- Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours in advance. Late cancellations or no-shows are counted as completed lessons.
- If Jack cancels a lesson, the session will be rescheduled at no extra charge.
- Lessons are for the registered student only and may not be transferred or shared.
3 Payments & Refunds
- Payment is required before lessons begin, unless otherwise agreed.
- Accepted payment methods: bank transfer, PayPal, Stripe (card).
- Self-paced course purchases are non-refundable once course access has been granted.
- Unused lessons in a bundle may be refunded on a pro-rata basis if requested within 30 days of purchase, minus any lessons already taken.
- All prices are displayed in Euros (€) and include applicable taxes where required.
- Right of withdrawal (EU consumers): you may cancel a purchase within 14 days of payment. For self-paced courses and downloadable materials, you expressly agree that access is provided immediately and acknowledge that your right of withdrawal is lost once access begins. For lesson bundles, the 14-day right applies to lessons not yet taken.
4 Student Conduct
- Students must treat the teacher with respect. Harassment, offensive language, or abusive behaviour will result in immediate termination of services without refund.
- Recording of lessons is only permitted with explicit written consent from Jack.
- Course materials provided are for personal use only and may not be shared, redistributed, or resold.
5 Intellectual Property
All content on this website — including text, images, course materials, and videos — is the property of Jack Teaching Languages. You may not reproduce, copy, or distribute any content without prior written permission.
6 Limitation of Liability
JTL provides educational services in good faith. We do not guarantee specific exam results or language proficiency outcomes. Progress depends on individual effort and practice outside of lessons.
JTL is not liable for technical failures (internet outages, platform issues) that prevent a lesson from taking place. In such cases, the lesson will be rescheduled.
7 Privacy
Your personal data is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which complies with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
8 TikTok Integration
JTL uses the TikTok Developer Platform (TikTok Login Kit and the Content Posting API) solely to publish our own educational videos to our own official JTL TikTok account. This integration is operated internally by JTL and is not a feature offered to students or website visitors.
Our use of TikTok is additionally governed by TikTok's own Terms of Service and Community Guidelines, and we are responsible for ensuring the content we publish complies with them. How any data obtained through this integration is handled is described in our Privacy Policy.
JTL is an independent service and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by TikTok or ByteDance Ltd. "TikTok" is a trademark of its respective owner.
9 Eligibility & Minors
To create an account or purchase lessons you must be at least 18 years old. Lessons may be provided to children, but in that case a parent or legal guardian must make the booking, accept these Terms, and provide consent on the child's behalf. The parent or guardian remains responsible for payment and for supervising the child during online lessons.
10 Governing Law & Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of Italy. Where you deal with us as a consumer, you also keep the benefit of any mandatory consumer-protection rights of the country in which you live, and nothing in these Terms limits those rights. Disputes will be subject to the competent courts of Italy, without prejudice to any mandatory rules that allow you, as a consumer, to bring proceedings in your country of residence.
11 Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. The latest version is always available at this URL.
